Red Tape And Visas in Italy

If one is a foreigner in Italy and is thinking of visiting all the attraction that Italy offers, one must provide the required documentation explaining the reasons and duration of their stay; sometimes it is necessary to get a visa. If one is a European citizen it is no necessary to have a visa but people from other countries must ask about the SHENGEN, which is a European agreement that operates as a single state in Europe. The countries that requires Shengen visa are: Italy, France, German, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, etc.

For students who do not belong to the European community the required documents are:
  1. Last diploma of high school studies and legalized translation.
  2. Health insurance.
  3. Passport with entrance visa mentioning "studies".
  4. Authenticated copy of the permission of stay.
  5. Italian language certificate, granted by one of the most important Italian Universities.

One must remember to photocopy all application material and documents that are necessary, but if the application is going to be submitted by mail, include a self-addressed envelope when appropriate. Italy Embassy
